Scholarships

The Ruritans give back to the youth of the community in form of Scholarships to deserving high school seniors in our community.  The majority of the scholarship money comes from our fund raisers.  All of this money is designated for our youth for scholarships.

The Ruritan National Organization is offering a "Double Your Dollar" Scholarship.  This money is a matching funds donation to the selected applicant to double the value of the scholarship for college tuition.

This year's recipient of the "Double Your Dollar" scholarship is Lance Backman.  Lance is the son of Larry and Nadra Backman.  He is a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School and plans to attend the University of South Carolina.  His chosen major is in Mechanical Engineering.
