Rudy Bears

Each year our club purchases and donates Rudy Bears to local EMS, Fire, and Sheriff's Departments to give to children who maybe traumatized in various incidents with each department.  Rudy Bear gives the children something to hold and focus on instead of the hectic environment surrounding the situation.

Betty Geiger presented Rudy Bears to Thomas Summers with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, Brian Rizner with the Calhoun County EMS, Chief Herbert Geiger with the Sandy Run of Calhoun Fire Station, and Mike Newman, Plant Manager for Voridian.  Thomas, Brian, and Herbert each told a story how the Rudy Bears have helped to calm and comfort children who are traumatized in various situations and thanked the Ruritan members for their donation.

Mike Newman thanked the Sandy Run Ruritans also.  He stated that his ambulance for Voridian is available for use when Calhoun County is busy with multiple calls.  Voridian also responds with the Sandy Run Calhoun County Fire Department on several accidents on the interstate.
