2003 Columbia/Spartan District Picnic

On Saturday, July 26, 2003, seventy-three Ruritan members and their families from the Columbia and Spartan Districts in South Carolina gathered at Saluda Shoals Park in the Carolina First Room for their annual family picnic. This year marks the 75^th anniversary of Ruritan and this made their get together very special.  The 75^th anniversary is being celebrated nationwide by all 1300 Ruritan clubs.  Sandy Run Ruritan Club members participating in this event were Dave Boney, Kathy Boney, Brad Bozard, Betty Geiger, Gary Geiger, Herbert Geiger, Kay James, Curtis Lake, Faye Lake, Lena Stabler, Marshall Stabler, Becky Starnes, and Gerald Starnes.  Special guests for this occasion from Ruritan National in Dublin, Virginia were George Winslow, 2003 Ruritan National President and Millard Thacker, 2002 Ruritan National President. 

 This was a day filled with the Ruritan motto of Fellowship, Goodwill, and Community Service.
