Sandy Run Ruritans and Sandy Run of Calhoun Fire Station firefighters join
together for an Adopt-A-Highway trash pickup on Saturday, December 13th
to pick up trash along Road 31 and portions of Old State Road. This will be the
parade route for the fourth annual Sandy Run Christmas Parade sponsored by the
Sandy Run Coon Hunters Association. Firefighters and Ruritans picked up
seventy-six bags of trash from along the side of the road. After the pick up,
Kay James provided light refreshments for everyone. Those participating in the
trash pick up were Jonney Albert, Millie Black, Eddie Cornell, Jackie Furtick,
Betty Geiger, Gary Geiger, Gary Hardee, Glenn James, Kay James, Curtis Lake,
Faye Lake, Becky Starnes, and Gerald Starnes.
Thanks to the Sandy Run of Calhoun Fire Station and the Sandy Run Ruritan Club
for helping make the highways of Sandy Run cleaner.
