Sandy Run Ruritans gathered on Saturday, August 23rd, for the second phase of their Adopt-A-Highway trash pick up for 2003.  Ruritan members picked up thirty-nine bags of trash along Highway 176.  After the pick up, Kay James provided light refreshments for everyone.  Those participating in the trash pick up were Jonney Albert, Kurt Alderman, David Atkinson, Gay Atkinson, Millie Black, Dave Boney, Betty Geiger, Herbert Geiger, Glenn James, Kay James, Curtis Lake, Faye Lake, Becky Starnes, Gerald Starnes, Doug Watts, and Hilda Wynn.

Did you know you can make a positive difference in how your community looks?  Just walk outside and pick up the trash from in front of your home, better yet, don’t be a litterbug and teach your children that litter hurts everyone.  Thanks to the Sandy Run Ruritan Club for helping make the highways of Sandy Run cleaner.

Millie Black and Gerald Starnes work safely while removing trash from Hwy. 176.   Ruritan members having fun and fellowship, gather for a group photo after finishing trash pickup.
